Something about Residence in Chinese Universities (as well as Family Residence)

Something about Residence (as well Family Residence) universities

University generally gives single rooms to Ph.D. students. Usually, in all universities, a single room has an attached bath, landline phone, a cableTV, a single bed, one chair, one table (mostly computer), a cupboard, and a fan(optional cold areas and compulsory in warmer areas).

The kitchen is mostly public, sometimes has gas, and most haven't plated (can’t cook Roti very well). The washing machine facility is also provided for university and public use.

There is minor variation in the residence facility. Some universities have apartments of 3-4 rooms with a common 1-2 bathroom/toilet (here boys and girls can’t live together in the same apartment due to shared washrooms, and of course not family as well).

For families, universities don’t support students especially they are indirectly discouraged by dormitory administration in the case of babies. (Sometimebaby families are prohibited).

Sometimes the single room is big enough to put up second-bed ORfloor bedding to accommodate only a wife (wife with 1 baby.) If you will get the extra facility from the dormitory then you have to pay.

Well, you can get exact information from specific university students but don’t take the risk to ask the university office about this.

In my opinion, 80% of universities have single-person accommodation enough for a family-like wife without a kid. And 60%-65% university residence is okay for even a kid.
